What is a typical cost for catering?
Food truck catering from most reputable trucks starts around $20/guest. While at first glance this might seem high – the food truck is driving a mobile kitchen to your location and cooking on site. You are receiving high quality restaurant food that is cooked to order in your company parking lot. Most food trucks also source local, organic style ingredients that you would not find in a chain restaurant.
What if my company doesn’t want to cover the whole cost?
No, you are not! Most trucks require a sales minimum to cover basic expenses.
If you are not paying for the whole meal here are two ways you can still have a food truck!
Subsidized Lunches. Some companies offer to sponsor the food truck partially. Even if they aren’t getting a free meal, $3-$5 off per employee helps with moral and they are eternally grateful!
Meeting the food truck minimum. Most food trucks require minimums of $800-$1000 for an event. If you are able to promote internally and team members meet the minimum, you won’t be on the hook for even a penny. If the truck sales are under the minimum- you still won’t be on the hook for the whole amount, just the difference in actual sales from the minimum
